19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev won his first title for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in especial - caused him falling of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-time trainer his previous coach.

Now training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt after March of that year.

The win also means he has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to win a trophy is really nice," commented tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my child her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six finals, including in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had caused observers to question if his ability to play at the highest level was concluded.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete assertively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five games to go ahead.

The competitors swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden professional victory, seized the initiative to push for a third set.

He rescued 4 early-game break points in a tight third set before the Russian won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the win with a rally at the net, with his opponent failing to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
